The ‘Media’ loves Trump

To The Editor:

Election night November 8, 2016, I decided, after watching how the media was reporting the election — saying Hillary Clinton was winning certain states — to turn off my television and vowed not to watch any more of the biased, Donald Trump-supporting news media.

What they were doing by making these reports was trying to brainwash Clinton supporters to stay home because, as they were telling it, Mrs. Clinton had everything wrapped up. Many voters did not go to the poll to vote for Hillary Clinton because of that trickery.

It amuses me that Mr. Trump keeps talking about how the media is at war with him. Reverse psychology, good move, Mr. Trump! The media has given Mr. Trump every break that’s possible to keep him from looking terrible as a leader.

I am almost inclined to agree with Mr. Trump, that he is smart, but that is only in manipulating the news media. He plays the media like it’s a five-dollar yoyo. The media will find fault in everything except the things Mr. Trump does, like still tweeting at 3 o’clock in the morning, not revealing his tax returns, still operating businesses receiving favors because he is president and putting friends and family on government payroll at taxpayers’ expense. The media doesn’t bother to bring up these subjects.

Let me stop here and make it perfectly clear. I do not fault Mr. Trump, he is well within his rights. All is fair in love, war and politics, if you can get away with it. That’s exactly what he is doing. Kudos to Mr. Trump right or wrong, I have no animosity for Mr. Trump, he is well within his rights to succeed by all means that he finds necessary. My blame is with the media and we the people for allowing such atrocities to take place. Again I have no ill feelings toward Mr. Trump. Do what you can get away with Mr. Trump and to hell with us that do not agree.

Let me go back to my thought. I had not watched television news since that date, November 8, 2016, until Monday, May 8, 2017, when I saw on the computer that ex-Attorney General Sally Yates was going to answer questions before congress about Mike Flynn’s Russian Connection. I decided to watch. Instead of Republican

Senators trying to get to the truth about Mr. Flynn’s Russian Connection, the Republicans tried to discredit ex-Attorney General Yates and was asking about everything except Mr. Flynn. They were even bringing up Hillary’s emails.

Before the hearings started, the media was letting Republicans get away with statements like “if Obama was so concerned about Flynn, why did he not take away Flynn’s security clearance? The media people know that President Obama did not have authority to take away Mr. Flynn’s security clearance. All Mr. Obama could do is what he did — fire Mr. Flynn.

Mr. Flynn, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, President Trump and many other Republicans have committed very serious crimes. Do you think for one second they will be held accountable? I will answer that, NO!

The American people should raise holy hell because this Republican Congress will not appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate this debacle that has found its way into our political process. This thing is way more corrupt and criminal than people can imagine.

God bless our country. May justice prevail.
