The Sunshine Riders Club will be having a horse show beginning at noon on Saturday, weather permitting and those planning to participat­e are advised to “Call before you Haul.” The show will be held at the club arena, 2350 Strong Highway, El Dorado. A current negative coggins for each horse is required. Cost is $3 per run and $1 per exhibition. Concession stand and restrooms are located on site. For more informatio­n call 870-310-9860.

Open Mic Night will be held from 8 until 10 p.m. today at PJs Coffee on the square in downtown El Dorado. Robert Love, a former resident of El Dorado, will be the featured performer, and all who wish to participat­e (poets, singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, etc.) are invited the event. Several events have been planned for the weekend at Moro Bay State Park. At 7:30 p.m. today, a free Owl Prowl will be held and those participat­ing should meet at the Visitor Center, according to Corbin Merriott, assistant superinten­dent at the state park.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, a free pontoon safari will be held on the Ouachita River, meeting at the marina. At 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, a free “Beads of Water” program will be held and those attending should meet at the Visitor Informatio­n Center. At 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a free “It’s a Reptile World” will be held, meeting at the Visitor Informatio­n Center. At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, a free “Pine Cone Birdfeeder­s” program will be held.
