EL DORADO — “Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test!” Book your seat now for South Arkansas Arts Center’s magically whimsical, “Tea with Mrs. Potts and Friends” at 10 a.m. on June 3 as SAAC celebrates the summer musical “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” with a “family friendly” tea party.

Parents are urged to “dress up your children as their favorite prince or princess and have a ball with Belle and Mrs. Potts. The tables will be swathed in beautiful fabrics inspired by Belle’s ball gown and elegantly set with china generously provided by SAAC members. SAAC will present a full tea service with elaborate eats and scrumptious treats inspired by ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ including dainty finger sandwiches and petit fours. Everything will be almost too beautiful to eat,” said Susan Harper at the arts center.

“When we got started planning for the extra activities which will surround our summer musical, everyone told us, ‘You absolutely must have a tea party’,” said Colleen Means, marketing director for SAAC. “We are really excited to bring ‘Tea with Mrs. Potts and Friends’ to life for some enchanted family fun.”

During the tea service, some of the songs from “Beauty and the Beast” will be performed. “Lots of photo-ops with the characters and take home goodies add to the fun,” Means said.
