Wedding Anniversary
Maynard and Charlotte Steinman celebrate 60th anniversary
It was the summer of 1957. The bride was 17 years old and the groom was 19 years old. The bridesmaid’s dress was emerald green and she carried pink carnations. The best man was the groom’s best friend. Family and friends were packed into Good Hope Lutheran Church in Arlington. Ohio. Charlotte Ann Smith was the bride and Maynard Eugene Steinman was the groom. This past week Maynard and Charlotte Steinman of El Dorado celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Nearly 1,000 miles away from the site of that wedding, they have made El Dorado their home since 1969. The have raised five children: Joan Murphree (El Dorado), Beth James Burns (El Dorado), Bruce Steinman (El Dorado), Heidi Bolland (El Dorado) and Emily Aulds (Houston, Texas). They are grandma and grandpa to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Cooper Tire brought Maynard and his family to El Dorado. Since retirement he spends most of his time tending his family and playing dominoes. Charlotte too tends her large family and continues to be a dedicated community volunteer. They both remain active members of our Savior Lutheran Church.
The Steinmans (and as many family members as can make it) will commemorate their 60 years together with a trip back to their hometown for a reunion.
