Reminder of Services

ELOISE BOYD Services for Eloise Boyd, 69, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Millard Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Farmervill­e, Louisiana, with the Rev. Stephen Dixon officiatin­g.

Interment will follow at the Millard Hill Church Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Farmervill­e.

FRANK D. EEDS Memorial services for Frank David Eeds, 70, of Hampton, will be at 10 a.m. today at Dickenson Baptist Church in Harrell with the Rev. Mike Nutt officiatin­g. Arrangemen­ts are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnol­le Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

VIRGINIA D. ELLIOTT Visitation for Virginia Dare Wooten Elliott, 92, of Tyler, Texas and formerly of Strong, will be held from noon until 2 p.m. today with funeral at 2 p.m. today at Green Grove Assembly of God.

Interment will be held at Green Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels.

VERN HARRIS Funeral for Vern Harris, 77, of El Dorado, will be at 11 a.m. today, at Zion Watch Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Dredd officiatin­g. Interment will be in Fellowship Cemetery in Lillie, Louisiana, under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

JAMES E. JONES Visitation for Lt. Col. James E. Jones, 88, of Hot Springs, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday with the service beginning at 2 p.m. at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, 3899 Highway 290, Hot Springs. Burial will follow at Gilchrist Cemetery in Friendship, under the direction of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

STEVEN C. MASSEY Steven C. Massey, 59, of El Dorado, passed away on Wednesday June 21 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock.

Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 26, at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 26, at Rest Haven Memorial Garden.

JUDITH A. OSBORN A memorial service for Judith Ann Osborn, 63, of Troup, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. today at New London Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Smith officiatin­g. Services are under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels.

VIOLA PALMER Funeral for Viola Palmer, 104, of El Dorado, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Beulah Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Harris, eulogist. Interment will be in Beulah Grove Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

VIRGINIA M. PICKERING Funeral for Virginia M. Pickering, 88, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Chapel with Marcelle Crow officiatin­g.

Visitation will begin at noon today prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

MABEL I. PITTMAN Visitation for Mabel Irene Cary Pittman, 93, of Chidester, will be held from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of the Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, with the Rev. Bob Inmon officiatin­g. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Holleman Cemetery, near White Oak Lake.

Obituaries

WILLARD L. LEE Willard L. Lee, 78, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Courtyard Health and Rehabilita­tion in El Dorado.

He was born June 2, 1939, to A.H and Nola Lee in Louisiana.

He was retired from Great Lakes Chemical where he worked as a truck driver, and he was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Terri Utley; son, Rodney G Lee; daughter-in-law, Melissa Lee; and grandson, Coley Lee.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret Lee; two sons, James “Butch” Lee, and Buddy Lee (Lisa), all of El Dorado; grandchild­ren, Stacie Wright, Shawn Utley, Brandy Sanner, and Brittany Bowman; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnol­le Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

CARL H. PRIDGEN Carl H. Pridgen, 68, of Strong, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in September 1948 in El Dorado to Minor Colvin Pridgen and Nellie Louise Tarter Pridgen. Carl was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was in the 101st Airborne Infantry as a door gunner and was a crew chief from 1969-1975. He worked at Riverwood for 20 years and Clean Harbors for 24 years. He was a charter member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 31 years and he was also a leader of the men’s fellowship and was a volunteer for the Red Cross.

He loved to hunt, fish, and riding on the party barge and playing at the lake and most of all he loved to follow his grandchild­ren’s ballgames, pageants, and cheering competitio­ns. Carl was the neighborho­od handy man and recently he was his daughter’s caregiver and was by his daughter’s side and cared for her daily during her recovery.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Gene Pridgen; and his father-in-law, Rastus Fore.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Fore Pridgen of Strong; his son, Keith Pridgen of Strong; his daughter, Amy Thomason (Chris) of El Dorado; his mother-in-law, Amay Fore of Strong; his brother, James C. Pridgen Sr. of Farmervill­e, Louisiana; his grandchild­ren, Kaili Pridgen, and Russell Pridgen; and their mother, Ginger; along with a sister-in-law, Virginia (Frankie) Risinger; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Malone officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2220 Pigeon Hill Road, Strong, AR 71765.
