TAUNTON

Tommy Lamar Taunton, 81, of Strong, AR passed away July 23, 2017 at Courtyard Rehabilita­tion and Health Center.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8pm, Tuesday July 25, 2017 at LaPile Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 also at LaPile Baptist Church.

CHARLES ESTES Charles Estes, 59 of El Dorado passed away on Sunday, July 17 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25 at the McCoy Cemetery near New Edinburg, Arkansas.

GLORIA THOMPSON Funeral services for Gloria Thompson will be held at 10:00 a.m. today at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Carly Davis and Rev. Leon Dixon officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery at Smackover under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

DOUG SHELTON Funeral services for Doug Shelton will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at Young’s chapel with Rev. Tim Sullivan officiatin­g. Interment will follow with Military honors in the Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Monday until service time at Young’s.

Obituaries

ALBERT ROWELL HANNA Albert Rowell Hanna, attorney and lifetime resident of El Dorado, passed away Saturday,

July 22, 2017, at the age of

74. He was born on February 12,

1943. Albert graduated from Hendrix

College in 1965 and received a

Juris Doctor degree from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law. Albert also received a degree in Spanish from South Arkansas University.

Albert enjoyed all nature and animals from chickens to goats to growing flowers, vegetables, and fruit. He loved fishing on his dock at Calion, and playing with his dogs, and strumming his guitar. He loved birds, especially Red Shouldered Hawks.

Albert grew up in the First Baptist Church. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, an Eagle Scout, a member of the Union County Bar Associatio­n and former Deputy Prosecutin­g Attorney for Union County.

Preceding Mr. Hanna in death were his wife, Marnette, his grandparen­ts, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rowell, his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Hilery E. Hanna, his sister and brother-in-law, Isabel and Joe Finnell, and his nephew, Charles Albert Finnell.

Mr. Hanna’s survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Magistrate Judge James and Janet Metcalf of Yuma, Arizona, his son, Hayden E. Hanna of El Dorado, his sister, and brotherin-law, Joy and Sidney Sugg of El Dorado, his grandchild­ren, Lauren Metcalf of Yuma and Ethan Hanna of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Also surviving are nephews Fergus Wayne Finnell of Little Rock and William S. Sugg Jr. of Seattle, and grandnephe­ws Matthew William Sugg and Jonathan Davis Sugg of Seattle.

The family invites all friends to Mr. Hanna’s graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in El Dorado on Tuesday, July 25, at 10:30 conducted by Reverend Brian Trostle with a reception to follow for family and friends.

MAHLEN PRYOR

ARLEDGE JR. Mahlen Pryor Arledge Jr. passed away July 19, 2017.

He served his country in WWII and is a hero to his country and to his family. Mr. Arledge is survived by his children; Tania Levi, Angela Taylor, and David Arledge. As well as 4 grandchild­ren, 8 great grandchild­ren, and a great great granddaugh­ter.

Mr. Arledge was an extraordin­ary, ordinary man who was loved and respected by all in his life. He is now dancing in heaven with his beloved wife of 68 years, Pauline.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor to the WWII museum in New Orleans will be appreciate­d.

He was an

Army veteran and worked as a

Branch Manager for Solar Supply for many years.He was an avid sportsman and had a great love for the outdoors. He was always up waiting for his sons and brother during hunting season.

Charles is preceded by his father . Surviving him are his mother and three children; Charles Aaron Estes ,Jonathon Brandon Estes, and Lauren Samantha Estes all of El Dorado Arkansas. Also surviving him are his brothers Raymond Dewey Estes, and William John Estes. Also surviving him is his beloved granddaugh­ter, Jaylin Conley.

A graveside service will be held at 10;00 am Tuesday July 25, 2017at Mc Coy Cemetery with Tommy Hubbard officiatin­g , under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. An online registry can be signed at wwwyoungsf­uneralhome.com
