BILLY R. BEENE

Billy Ray Beene, 88, of El Dorado, AR passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Kim Nesbitt officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Director.

JACK E. DECKARD Jack Edward Deckard, 87, of El Dorado passed away, Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. J.D. Weido officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

RUIZ A. KEGLER

Ruiz Anne Rozell Kegler, 81, of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away from an accident on July 16, 2017.

Ruiz Anne was born Jan. 9, 1936, in El Dorado, Arkansas, into a family strongly committed to each other, the Nashes and the Alputentes.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Kegler; daughters, Elene Murray of Alexander, Arkansas, Ann Lott of Gainesvill­e, Georgia, and Anna Renee Rozell of Fairbanks, Alaska; and son, Skip Sample of Fairbanks, Alaska. Ruiz Anne had 12 grandchild­ren, twelve great-grandchild­ren and one great-great-grandchild.

Touching many lives, Ruiz Anne taught elementary school, sewing, was a culinary arts professor at Hutchingso­n Career Center, University of Alaska. Those in need found a friend in Ruiz Anne. Ruiz Anne was a traveler, a seeker finding what each community has to offer. She met a few of her life goals when she attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, viewed the Vatican in Rome, and cruised the Panama Canal.

A mass will be dedicated to her at the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairbanks, which family will attend. In accordance with her wishes, no memorial will be held. Ruiz Anne would like for you to have an adventurou­s time in her honor. Sew, cook, garden, weave, take pictures, learn a new technology, go on a trip, wander. Live fully.

CAYE POPE

Caye Pope, 68, of Smackover, passed away, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. She was born November 17, 1948, to Elton George and Lillian Hinton Cogburn in Smackover, AR.

She retired from Smackover

Nursing Home after a long career as an LPN and then continued with nursing by caring for her mother and the love of her life, her husband, Harry. Caye was a 1966 graduate of Smackover High School and remained close with the members of her graduating class. She was an avid Buckaroo fan, and when she was no longer able to go the games, she listened to them on the radio. She could be heard up and down the halls of the nursing home rooting them to victory.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband of 45 years, Harry Pope; sister, Sherry Bohannon; and brother, Eddie Cogburn.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Pope of Smackover; brother, Ron Cogburn of Little Rock; a special friend, Jamie Blackwell; grand dogs, Coco and Penny; and many beloved nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.

Visitation will be held from 5:007:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Bob Inmon officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
