A 15-year-old girl reportedly collapsed in the middle of a city street Sunday after smoking what she thought was a synthetic drug, according to a police report.

Members of Cross Life Church rushed to assist the girl when they saw her fall just before 10 a.m. as she attempted to cross Mount Holly Road near the church.

Church members told police that the girl had been walking west along Mount Holly, and she had difficulty getting back to her feet after she fell.

Police said the girl told them that she was walking to church when a male approached her in a dark colored vehicle and asked if she wanted to smoke some “Deuce,” a nickname for a synthetic drug whose affects are similar to that of marijuana when smoked.

The substance is legal and “Deuce” can also refer to a brand of the substance called K2.

The girl said she got into the vehicle and smoked a “rolled cigarette” that contained the synthetic substance.

After taking several hits on the cigarette, the girl said she asked the male to stop the vehicle so she could get out.

She said he complied, and when she exited the vehicle she began hallucinating.

Police said church members had called for an ambulance, and the girl was transported to Medical Center of South Arkansas, where she was treated and released.

A police report did not indicate if the girl knew the male.
