The complainant told officers four shots came from behind a residence in the area, and a woman there said she thought the kitchen window had been shot out. While checking the residence, officers found two bullet holes, one that had entered through the rear garage door and the other in the wall on the south side of the residence. A spent round was recovered from the garage floor, police said. Two residents said they were watching TV when they heard several shots come from the backyard, noting they did not hear any commotion prior to the shooting.

When deputies returned the residence following the second complaint — loud music — just after midnight, they found approximately 200 people at a party there. They said several of them appeared to be underage and were drinking alcoholic beverages. Deputies said they began looking for the host of the party. Pearson was identified as the host, and deputies said she appeared intoxicated, noting she was unsteady on her feet and her speech was impaired.
