NOTICE OF REQUEST OF GRANT FUNDS

Notice is hereby given that Central Arkansas Development Council is applying for Federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the administrative, operational needs for their transit program, South Central Arkansas Transit for the fiscal year of October 1, 2017 through September 30,

2018. These grant funds will be used to provide rural public bus transportation in 12 South Central Arkansas counties of Union, Columbia, Calhoun, Ouachita, Dallas, Garland, Hot Springs, Clark, Pike, Montgomery, Saline and Lonoke Counties. The Federal amount requested will be $4,454,254.00 for the Section 5311 Grant and $207,450.00 for the Section 5311-F Grant. At this time a public hearing is not scheduled, but anyone wishing to participate in a public hearing is requested to contact CADC - SCAT by calling 501-332-5426. At a scheduled date and time, Central Arkansas Development Council - South Central Arkansas Transit will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respects to the social, economic and environmental aspects of this project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said project.

A copy of the grant proposal will be available for public inspection at the Central Arkansas Development Council’s administrative office which is located at 321 Edison Avenue, Benton, Arkansas 72018 or at the Central Arkansas Development Council’s operations office which is located at 1303 South Main Street, Malvern, Arkansas 72104.
