The 26th annual school supply giveaway will begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Baptist Church, 1018 E. Wilson St., El Dorado. Members of the Fairview Community Developmen­t Associatio­n, St. John, College Avenue Church of Christ and other community partners will be handing out the supplies until all are gone, and free health screening will be given to those entering kindergart­en.

Volunteers with the El Dorado Habitat for Humanity will be working at the home currently under constructi­on at 537 W. Second, El Dorado, beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Everyone is invited to participat­e in the build.

A Marksmansh­ip Challenge will be held at Slingin’ Arrows, 1428 N. West Ave., El Dorado, from noon until 3 p.m. tomorrow. The four-part challenge will include BB guns, baitcastin­g, Olympicsty­le archery and 3D archery. All equipment will be provided and no registrati­on is required. Admission is free. The Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources will host the Tinker Time program “Stop Motion Animation” at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the museum, 3853 Smackover Highway. Registrati­on is not required, but is appreciate­d. Call the museum at 870-725-2877.

The South Arkansas Arts Center, 110 E. Fifth St., will host an artists’ reception from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow, to honor two Arkansas artists with exhibits now showing in the Price, Merkle and Lobby galleries. North Little Rock resident, Virmarie dePoyster’s show, “Curiositie­s,” will hang in the Price and Merkle Galleries through Aug. 30. Lee Scroggins, Junction City resident, is displaying her watercolor exhibition, “Rural Charms” in the Lobby Gallery through Aug. 30. Scroggins has captured scenes of life in the rural South in her paintings that everyone will recognize.

The fourth annual Sharion Bailey Whitlock

School Supply Giveaway will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow on the basketball court in the area of Lester and Columbia behind Arby’s. The giveaway will be presented by Meet Me at the Court and The Bailey Family. School supplies will be distribute­d to students in grades K – 12. A pizza party will follow. Prizes will also be given away to lucky winners who sign in with a number. Those who plan to attend the event are asked to bring their lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, activities will be moved to the First Baptist Church-Cordell Family Life Center, 620 Cordell.
