Arts center box office open for ‘Completely Hollywood (Abridged)’

-

The South Arkansas Arts Center box office is now open for ticket sales for the upcoming play, “Completely Hollywood (Abridged),” to be presented during the 2017-2018 theater season announcement party Aug. 19. The announcement party, “Hooray, It’s Hollywood,” will begin at 7 p.m., with the production beginning around 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the play and party are $10 for everyone.

Giving Hollywood more than just a nip and a tuck, “Completely Hollywood (Abridged)” cuts through the celluloid to condense the 186 greatest films in Hollywood’s over 100-year history into a complete compilation of classic cinematic clichés. It is filled with irreverent references to the world of film making, humorous examinations of plots and quotes from popular movies, and imitations of the stars of those films. The broad physical comedy, tireless energy of the cast, and countless pop-culture references make for a good time, according to a news release from the SAAC.

The show is very interactive. “Audience members are encouraged to have as much fun as they can handle! I will mention that even though there may be some audience participation, it is all fun and everybody will have a great time,” said director Justin Howard.

For more information, call the SAAC office at 870862-5474 or visit the website at www.saac-arts.org. SAAC is located at 110 E. Fifth St., El Dorado.
