Speakers Circuit: Keith Sisson of Southern Airways speaking at Rotary
Keith Sisson, co-founder and chief marketing officer for Southern Airways, will be the guest speaker when the Rotary Club meets at noon Monday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Sisson assisted founder Stan Little in the initial launch of Southern Airways in 2013. While living in Memphis and overseeing the day-to-day operation of Southern, Sisson worked on the acquisition plan for Southern to purchase a larger airline.
Post acquisition, Sisson transitioned to the position of chief marketing officer of the new combined company and currently oversees all the airline’s paid media, branding and public relations. He also works with the airline’s executive vice president of business development on special projects and corporate sales. After living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a year and overseeing the integration of the two companies, Sisson and his family relocated to his hometown of Biloxi, Mississippi. Bonnie Haynie, director of federal programs, professional development, special projects and coordinator of the Advanced Placement program for El Dorado Public Schools, and Katie Sandifer, digital media and marketing manager for the El Dorado School District, will be the guest speakers when the Civitan Club meets at noon Thursday at Kozy Kitchen. They will be talking about “why the El Dorado School District is the Promising Choice for students in this area.”
Haynie has a bachelor’s of science degree, English and social studies from Southern Arkansas University and a master’s degree in gifted education from Henderson State University. She holds certification as a principal and a superintendent.
Haynie, the former principal at El Dorado High School,
left that position to become the director of federal programs, assessments and the Teacher Excellence and Support System for the district. She is a TESS trainer and is TESS credentialed. Haynie has been an Area III teacher at the Arkansas Governor’s School and director of Summer Laureate for Gifted Students.
She serves on numerous committees and is co-chair of Academic Signing Day. She previously worked to implement the ACT and the ACT Aspire Assessments statewide and testified at the Arkansas State Board of Education on using the ACT as the state test.
Haynie was named the Arkansas Association for Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year for 2010 and received the Challenger Award for GT in 2007. She is also a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary International.
Sandifer said her primary role is to promote the schools and district programs and recruit new families and students to the district. She joined the El Dorado School District in 2015. She is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University with over 15 years experience in marketing and communications.
