Two people were injured Saturday in separate assaults in El Dorado.

El Dorado police were called by the Medical Center of South Arkansas at 12:53 a.m. after a person came in with injuries consistent with being run over by a vehicle, but he left before he was treated. He came back to the medical center at 2 a.m. and spoke with police.

The man said he had loaned another man $30 for gas Friday. Later that day, while visiting a friend at the Econo Lodge, 1920 Junction City Road, the suspect called him asking to borrow more money and agreed to meet him in the parking lot. When the suspect arrived, he got into a blue car, causing the alarm to go off, and ran from the scene before the two could meet.

The suspect called him again for money early Saturday morning was told to meet him at a friends house.

When he got there, the man went to the car and reached into the rear passenger seat, pulling $100 from his wallet. The suspect grabbed the wallet and the man’s phone and began to drive away while the victim grabbed the inside door handle. He let go of the handle, telling police that he was afraid of getting hurt if he stayed in the car, and hit his head on the pavement while the vehicle ran over his left thigh.

According to the report, the man sustained a possible fractured nose, cut to the right side of nose, large area of scraping on his lower back, multiple scrapes on his arms, legs and hands, swelling to the mouth area, soreness to his left thigh and hip and swelling to the right side of his head.

Officers also were dispatched to the 1000 block of East First

Street on Saturday for a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to police reports, a woman told police that her boyfriend, Gregory Hayes, 58, came home intoxicated and passed out in the living room. A couple of hours later, Hayes came into her bedroom and the two began arguing.

She said Hayes tried to punch her in the head and she blocked him with her hand.

She said she left the room and attempted to leave the house when he grabbed a kitchen knife and chased her. She said he also threatened to kill both her and her son before she escaped out of the house to a neighbors home.

Hayes was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated assault and third-degree domestic battery. His first appearance at court was Tuesday.
