Rip the Runway fundraiser set for Sept. 16

-

Area first responders are invited to Rip the Runway during the annual fundraiser for New Creations Life Center, a local nonprofit organization that assists the homeless in El Dorado and Union County.

The event is set for 6 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the Parish Hall of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 512 Champagnolle Road.

The entrance to the Parish Hall is off North Madison.

The theme for the fifth annual event is “You are Royalty.”

Promoting unity in El Dorado by enhancing relationships between citizens and law enforcement officers and showing appreciation for first responders is also a keynote for Runway 2017.

A special invitation has been extended to area law enforcement agencies, fire departments and ambulance services to model their uniforms in the fashion show.

Runway will also include a silent auction.

Proceeds from the event will go toward efforts by New Creations to serve the area’s homeless population by providing emergency assistance and developing plans to open a shelter and expand services.

New Creations also hosts the annual Community Christmas Dinner, which is held on Christmas Day and includes free meals, gifts and entertainment.

Tickets for Rip the Runway are $10 in advance and $20 at the door.

Sunday is the deadline for models and vendors to RSVP.
