Dragons burn Haynesvill­e

JUNCTION CITY Junction City's Hishmma Taylor rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns and Shuvasceia­ye Frazier passed for touchdowns and ran for two more Friday as the Dragons beat Haynesvill­e, La., 48-20. Junction City improved to 3-0 while the Golden Tornado fell to 1-2.

Junction City rang up 425 yards in total offense, including 313 yards on the ground. The Dragons held the Golden Tornado to 98 yards in total offense.

Taylor had 32 carries in the game and scored on runs of 3, 1 and 41 yards. Frazier completed 7-of12 passes for 112 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Davis and a 12-yard TD pass to Jakobe Fisher. Frazier also rushed for 105 yards on 17 attempts.

The Dragons opened the scoring with Taylor's 3-yard run. Taylor ran for the conversion. Taylor added a 1-yardrun with 10:53 left in the first as the lead swelled to 14-0. Haynesvill­e scored on a 24-yard run before Frazier's 75-yard run pushed hte lead to 20-7 with 8:57 left in the first. Junction City capped the

first quarter scoring on Frazier's 26-yard toss to Davis. Jack Smith's kick increased the lead to 27-7 with 5:22 left in the opening quarter.

Haynesvill­e scored on a 10-yard run with 1:05 left in the second and then returned the second half kickoff 75 yards, cutting the lead to 27-20 with 11:44 left in the third.

Junction City regained control as Frazier capped a drive with a 2-yard run. Smith's kick upped the lead to 34-20 with 3:15 left in the third. Frazier hit Fisher for a touchdown before Taylor closed out the scoring with a 41-yard run with 6:52 left in the game. Smith kicked the final two extra points for the final margin.

Davis had five receptions for 81 yards. Defensivel­y, he had six tackles and an intercepti­on.

Terrell Gibson had six tackles. Dhante Gibson had five tackles and Fred Daniel had two sacks.
