MARY L. MATNEY

Mary L. Matney, formerly of El Dorado, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.

Services will be announced by Young’s Funeral Directors of El Dorado.

ADRIENNE POWELL Adrienne Powell, 49, of El Dorado, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at Woods Nursing Home in Monticello.

BOBBIE J. WAYNE Funeral for Bobbie Jean Wayne, 68, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at the Mount Union Baptist Church in Marion, Louisiana, with the Rev. Willie D. Simmons, pastor, and the Rev. Dennis Britton officiatin­g.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Farmervill­e, Louisiana.

DORA C. LAUNIUS

Mrs. Dora “Deanna” Collier Launius, 85, of El Dorado, formerly of Hope, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, in El Dorado. Mrs. Launius was born in Hope, on Nov. 6, 1931 to Leo and Etta Jackson Collier. She was a homemaker and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in El Dorado.

Mrs. Launius was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James Vance Collier.

Mrs. Launius is survived by one son, James “Leo” of El Dorado, a daughter; Dawn Beasley and her husband, Chuck, of El Dorado; two brothers, Eugene Collier and his wife, Paulette, of Oak Grove Community, and Doug Collier and his wife, Brenda also of Oak Grove, one sister; Sharon Rusty and her husband Danny of Longview, Texas, and one granddaugh­ter; Ashley Deanna Smith and her husband, Chad, of El Dorado; and a great-granddaugh­ter, Olivia Dawn Smith; other family members and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Launius will be 1 to 2 p.m. today at BRAZZEL/ Oakcrest The Funeral Home, 1001 S. Main, Hope, Arkansas.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmorela­nd officiatin­g.

JOHN D. LOWERY

John Dan Lowery, 60, of El Dorado, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept.

24, 2017.

He was born

Lowery in

Killeen, Texas.

He was a loving and caring husband, a wonderful Dad and a special Pop. John was retired from BCS Gas after 40 years. In the 90’s John was Scout Master for the Parkers Chapel Troop 124, and watched his son get to be an Eagle Scout. He loved to hunt deer, and he had the best built deer stand, with 25 feet stairs, recliner and carpet. He also loved to go turkey hunting in the Ouachita National Forest. John had a wonderful family and friend camaraderi­e there, real guy time, and he would be the only one that would bring home the turkey.

Preceding him in death were his parents; father-in-law, Darrell Mason; and two sisters-in-law, Gail Lowery and Pam Lowery.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Terry Lowery of El Dorado; son, Wesley Lowery (Melissa) of El Dorado; daughter, Katelyn Glass (Chris) of Conway; two sweet grandchild­ren, Callie and Cain Glass; two brothers, David Lowery of Maumelle, and Ray Lowery of El Dorado; sister, Terri Hall of El Dorado; a wonderful mother-in-law, Betty Mason, that loved her son-in-law so much; brother-in-law, Glenn Mason; many aunts, nieces, and nephews; many wonderful friends; and his “man’s best friend,” Abe.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at Young’s Chapel with Bro. Bryan Thomas officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

CHARLES D. WILSON Charles Dale Wilson, 86, of El Dorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017.

He was born Dec. 22, 1930, to Charles Stewart and Alice Elizabeth Wilson in El Dorado. Charles loved carpentry, he worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for over 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, sports, playing practical jokes, and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He had a warm loving smile, his eyes so full of happiness, witty sense of humor who loved life and lived each day to the fullest.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were his wife, Nancy Lea Wilson; sisters, Alice Janice Smith and Elizabeth “Honey” Garner.

He is survived by his four children, Velma Ariaz (Gary) of Bakersfiel­d, California, Sue Yaller (Jeff) of Moorpark, California, Ronnie Wilson (Karen) of Panama City, Florida, and Stewart Wilson (Debra) of El Dorado; 15 grandchild­ren; 10 great-grandchild­ren; his brother, Winston Wilson of Ozark, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved dearly.

Visitation will be held at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Senior Pastor Jimmy Meek officiatin­g, from Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado.
