MARY F. MATNEY Mary Frizzell Matney, 90, of Tyler, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.

Born on Oct. 14, 1926 in Tyler, Texas, Mary was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, and friend to many people and devoted her life to serving others.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Brooks Matney.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Matney of San Antonio, Texas; her daughter, Suzanne Harris of El Dorado; five grandchild­ren, Marla Matney Havel, Brooke Pilgrim and husband, Mike, Holly Price and husband, Chris, Anndi Cranford and husband, Dave, and Michael Harris; six great-grandchild­ren Matthew, Ella, Emily, Addison, Madelyn, and Ryan.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Arlington Cemetery in El Dorado, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

JEWELL B. POOLE Jewell Barnum Poole, 91, of El Dorado, passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

He was born April 23, 1926, to Claude and Inez Joiner Poole in Lapile.

He was a 1944 graduate of El Dorado High School, and a member of East Main Baptist Church.

H e retired from Amoco and also worked for Root Oil and Pam Am.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and wife, Gloria G. Poole.

Survivors include his two sons, M. Louis Poole (Kaye) of Mount Ida, and Richard Poole of Houston, Texas; and two grandchild­ren, Michael Poole (Gaye) of Little Rock, and Lora Krone (Josh) of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at Young’s Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

DORA L. REVILS Graveside services for Dora Lee Revils, 80, will be held at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2017, with Brother Billy Crosby officiatin­g.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dora Lee Revils passed away on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

“Lee” as family and friends called her, was born in Huttig, on May 23, 1937. Lee retired from Binswanger Glass after 20 plus years.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, E.R. Ellis and Dora Bee Davis.

Left to cherish her memories are the love of her life for the past 60 years, husband Fred C. Revils Sr.; son, Fred C. Revils Jr, and wife, Brenda Kay, of Shreveport; daughter, Brenda Revils Warren and husband, Marcus, of Kingwood, Texas; grandchild­ren, Branden Tramel and wife, Suzy, of Kingwood, Hollie Revils of Shreveport, and Jodi Tramel of Kingwood; great-grandchild­ren, the joys of her life, Brayden Tramel, Kylie Tramel, and Gage Parker of Kingwood; the youngest 3-year-old, Sawyer Cruz Sams, who referred to her affectiona­tely as “Doe Doe,” who she enjoyed watching him ride his four-wheeler and “shaking his booty.”

There are no words to describe our loss. Lee was the leader of our family. Thanksgivi­ng and Christmas will never be the same. Her strength will live on in all of us.

Honoring her as pallbearer­s will be Alan Horn, Marcus Warren, Branden Tramel, Chris Taylor, Cameron Adams, Matthew Sams, and Jamie Bragg.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bryn and his assistant, Christy, for all the care and support you have given her over the years, the Greenwood Fire Department and her favorite nurse, Ashley Crowder, thank you for taking care of her like she was your own.

JAMES L. SHORT II James “Jim” Lindsey Short II, 44, of Little Rock and formerly of El Dorado, passed away at his home on Sept. 27, 2017.

Jim was born on Jan. 10, 1973, to the late James Donald Short and Barbara J o Andrews Short.

H e worked for the State of Arkansas as a career education examiner.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Danny Starnes.

Survivors include his sister, Donna Short Starnes; and nephew, Tom.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
