Union County Retired Teachers Union County Retired Teachers will meet at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado. The El Dorado Police Canine Unit will be the program. All members are asked to bring canned goods for Interfaith Help Services.

El Dorado School Board changes November meeting date The date of the November monthly meeting of the El Dorado School Board has been changed to 6 p.m. Nov. 6. The board will meet in the board room of the Administration Office, 200 W. Oak St.

Democratic Party of Arkansas chair to visit Union County Michael John Gray, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas, will be visiting Union County at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 for the Union County Democrats Monthly Meeting at South Arkansas Community College Library, 300 Summit St., El Dorado. He will be speaking about issues affecting the state of Arkansas and the importance of recruiting solid candidates to run for office in 2018 – locally and statewide

Barton Library to host ‘Art Under

Glass’ Published author and artist Lucy Gibny to offer a free art show “Art Under Glass,” where each piece of art will be placed on a table under glass for the young children to be able to admire and also draw.

Crayons and paper will be provided at each table for the whole family to enjoy. Exploring Culture and Countries will be the theme for this group of art. Refreshments will be provided.

“Art Under Glass” will be held the week of before Thanksgiving at Barton Library.

Slik Nickel to perform for American Legion On Friday, Slik Nickel will make its Club 10 debut. Come dance in the American Legion’s smoke free environment from 8 to 12 p.m. There’s an $8 dollar cover charge. Everyone over 21 is welcome.
