40 days community prayer

-

DAY 23: Monday, Oct. 23

SCRIPTURE: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” - Acts

OBSERVATION: The believers of the early Church were a committed people. They were connected to one another. They grew in their faith. They served others. They would continue to reach a lost world with the Gospel.

Today, committed followers of Christ should follow the example of the early Church. The change needed in our culture will be best led by committed followers of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, empower us to live the way You desire, as committed followers of Christ. Revive Your Church from her current lukewarm, lethargic state. May we live as true believers, producing fruit, and not as nominal Christians. Use us to reach our world, including our community down the street, and people groups beyond our borders.
