Jimmie Wayne Barbaree, 77, of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. Cremation services are entrusted to Perry's Funeral Chapels.

Joseph Daniel Cook, 51, beloved husband of Karen Arlene Judge Cook, died on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Shaw Heights Baptist Church of Sumter, South Carolina with the Rev. Robert White officiatin­g. Interment will follow at noon in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Bullock Funeral Home of Sumter.

Services for Bobby Lee Lynn, 91, will be 11:00 a.m. at Marrable Hill Chapel today with the Rev. Ben Wasson officiatin­g. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. A private family burial will be at Arlington Cemetery following the service under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral service for Darren Jerome Phifer, 46, of El Dorado, will be Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. James Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. Public viewing will be 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm today and 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday at Andrews Chapel.

Obituaries MELROY GILBERT

Melroy “Tah-dah” Gilbert 66 was born June 16, 1951 to Nathaniel and Catherine French - Gilbert. He passed on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

He was a graduate of Village High School and was a member Damascus Baptist. He was the owner of A & M Mobile Home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparen­ts, three sisters Irene, Lucy Mae, Early Mae Gilbert and three brothers, Jessie Davis Jr., Clint, and Huey P. Gilbert.

Survivors are his wife: Gladys Gilbert; son, Anthony Gilbert of El Dorado; daughter Kiara Gilbert of Little Rock; stepson, Antonio Moore of Pine

Bluff; step-daughter, Alice Johnson of El Dorado; sisters, Brenda Gilbert and Shirley Gulley both of Camden and Sarah Wyrick of Magnolia, AR; brothers Bobby Gilbert of Flint, MI, and ELroy Gilbert of Camden,

VIRGIE A. SCHOOLEY

Ms. Virgie Ann Perdue Schooley, 87, of Junction City, LA passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Alpine Guest Care Center in Ruston, LA

Ms. Virgie was born December 28, 1929 in El Dorado, AR to the union of Harvey M Perdue and Nona Idella Hargett Perdue.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Harvey Perdue, three sisters, Stella Pauline Perdue, Veda Lenora Perdue Jones, and Evelyn Perdue Mason.

Ms. Virgie was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Junction City, and loved working outside especially in her flower beds.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Jean Whitaker and Mary

Alice Mc Donald both of West Monroe, LA, two sons, Joseph Shelton McDonald and wife Alberta of Perryville, AR and Leonard E. McDonald, Jr. and wife Terryle of Junction City, numerous grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Junction City, AR

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Junction City, AR with Rev. Jim Bynum officiatin­g. Interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City, AR.
