Weekend events planned for New Year’s Eve

Several organizations are gearing up for New Year’s Eve and planning entertainment for all.

In the Murphy Arts District, packages are being offered for a party at the Griffin Music Hall with Windstorm, billed as Shreveport’s top party band, the ball drop live on a big screen, party favors, a champagne toast, after midnight coffee and breakfast buffet.

MAD also is offering a package that includes dinner at the Griffin Restaurant with a specialized menu. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve party are available for $40, while the package with dinner costs $100. To purchase tickets or find out more information, visit eldomad.com.

White Mustang will play in the banquet hall of American Legion Club 10 starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be an $8 cover and the event will feature a large dance floor and plenty of seating. For New Year’s Eve, Lost Prairie will play Sunday as part of a full New Year’s party with a $12 cover charge. Reservations can be made after 5 p.m. Friday by calling 870-315-6482.

At Hill’s Pool Hall, Black Strap will play starting at 9 p.m. Sunday. There will be a $5 cover. Hill’s will open at 6 p.m. that night.

And the Brothers of Gusher Elk Lodge No. 560 have planned an end of the year bash featuring the sounds of B. Moe on Saturday. Doors will open at the Gusher Lodge, 1525 E. 19th St., at 9 p.m. and there will be a $10 cover charge at the door, though the price is $7 if purchased in advance.
