Services for Nell Holder Walters, 84, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday January 23, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, Monroe. Visitation will be at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM today. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlingto­n Road, Monroe.

Obituaries MARVIN L. SKIFF

Marvin Lee Skiff, 77, of El Dorado, AR passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the

John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.

Mr. Skiff was born October

23, 1940 in Colorado Springs, CO to the union of George Skiff and Joyce Price Skiff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of forty years Janis Deckard Skiff, who he is now reunited with again.

Mr. Skiff was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and retired from the El Dorado Foundry Machine and Supply Company after forty years of service. He was avid nature lover and loved taking nature walks, capturing the beauty he saw through video and photos. He had a passion for bream fishing and spent a lot of time on various lakes in South Arkansas. He was an avid Razorback fan, especially of the basketball program. This comes as no surprise, as he was a standout basketball player for El Dorado High School and also coached a men’s team at the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club Church League.

Mr. Skiff was a handyman, a family man, and his children and grandchild­ren were his prized possession­s. He loved to decorate for all of the holidays to make it special for his family. He had a great devotion and a deep love for his wife, Janis. This love started forty years ago with a wink that he gave her in their high school Biology class.

Survivors include his three daughters, Laura Smith and husband Keith, Susan Haner, Brenda Blaylock and husband Paul, one sister, Sandra Sosa and husband Sal, one brother, Randall Skiff and wife Renee, five grandchild­ren, Anna Smith, Landon Smith, Brooke Blaylock, Trace Blaylock and Georgie Rhodes.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Hudson officiatin­g. Interment will be in the Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.

Any planned memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, Lifetouch Hospice or the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club.
