EHS alum named to Alabama’s dean’s

list

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Julia Daniels of El Dorado was named to The University of Alabama’s Dean’s List for fall 2017.

A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at UA were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0.

The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize fulltime undergradu­ate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergradu­ate students who take less than a full course load.

chancellor’s and dean’s lists MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello named 207 students to the Chancellor’s List for the fall 2017 semester and another 352 students to the Dean’s List, according to Carol Dolberry, registrar.

Selection to the Chancellor’s List requires a grade point average of 4.0 on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level. Local students named to this list include Judith Grafton of Junction City and Chelsea Leger of Norphlet.

The Dean’s List requires a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, also on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level. cooking classes

A number of non-credit cooking classes will be offered through the community education office at South Arkansas Community College in the coming months. Each will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the El Dorado High School Teaching Kitchens. Classes and registrati­on fees include:

• Crawfish Recipes - Mar. 5, $20

• Appetizers for Bridal and Baby Showers - Apr. 9, $15

• Mother’s Day Treats - May 7, $15

The South Arkansas Community College Library has a spate of programs scheduled for the month of February. The events are as followed.

• Resume Writing and Online Job Search with Mindy Farley, 2 p.m. Wednesday

• Internatio­nal Business Institute with Dr. Sarah Singer, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday

• “Three Days of the Condor,” part of the Spring Film Series with Dr. Jim Yates, 2 p.m. on Feb. 11.

• Intro to Facebook with Lauri Wilson, 2 p.m. on Feb. 28

Guests are welcome to bring lunches with them during the library’s heart health programs.

• Exercising for Heart Health with Terry Clark, 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.

• Dieting for Heart Health with Dr. Eric Hatley, 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 20.

• Taking Care of Your Heart with Dr. Angela Simmons, 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.
