Scott Street, CEO Medical Center of South Arkansas, will be the guest speaker at Civitan.
Street has a Master of Healthcare Administration from University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Ouachita Baptist University, (OBU) in Arkadelphia.
He serves on the Board of Directors at OBU, the School of Business Advisory Board and the Gridiron Club Board of Directors. Street’s presentation will be Destination Healthcare.

Robin Krneta will be the Kiwanis speaker for Feb. 14 at noon.
Robin is the Executive Director for the South Arkansas Children’s Coalition.
South Arkansas Children’s Coalition is the umbrella organization that oversees two child welfare programs; 13th South Judicial District CASA and the Children’s Advocacy Center of South Arkansas (CAC).
As the Executive Director, she is responsible for the overall administration and management of the South Arkansas Children’s Coalition, including all programs, fundraising activities, and general operations. She is also the Forensic Interviewer for the CAC.
In 2013, Robin began her career as the Executive Director of the 13th South CASA program.
The CASA program recruits and trains community volunteers in Union and Columbia Counties to advocate for abused and neglected children in the Juvenile Court system. CASA volunteers represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in court, while helping them find safe and permanent homes.
In early 2016 after seeing the need, Robin began collaborating with state and local officials to establish the first Children’s Advocacy Center in Union County.
In January 2017 the Children’s Advocacy Center of South Arkansas opened its doors.
The CAC, which serves Union, Columbia, Ouachita and Calhoun Counties, provides a safe place for child abuse victims and their families to receive comprehensive services from dedicated professional interviewers, nurses, counselors and advocates in a child-friendly atmosphere through a coordinated team approach, as well as provide child abuse prevention, awareness and education to the community.
Robin is a native of Ashley County and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Robin has received extensive training in the field of child welfare services through the National CASA Association, National CAC and Gunderson National Child Protection Center.
Prior to beginning her career with the South Arkansas Children’s Coalition, Robin has held various leadership positions, including Executive Director of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and administrator of a freight brokerage office.
Robin is married to Alex and they have three children, Matthew, Sidney and Graci.
Sylvia Thompson,
will be the speaker for Rotary Club on Feb. 12.
She is director of the El Dorado Promise Scholarship
Prior to her current position, Sylvia Thompson taught Advanced Placement U.S. History, U.S. History and Sophomore Seminar for 14 years at El Dorado High School, where she also served as Social Studies department coordinator, Parental Involvement coordinator and Student Council sponsor.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech/ Organizational Communication from the University of Texas at Austin, teaching credentials from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and a Master’s degree in History from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
She was the 2000 El Dorado Education Foundation’s Outstanding High School Educator.
Sylvia is a past president of the El Dorado Service League and the Alpha Phi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, professional teacher’s sorority.
She is a state board member of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund, serves on the Union County Community Foundation board and is a member of the Union County chapter of Chi Omega sorority alums.
She and her husband Randy have lived in El Dorado for 37 years, have two daughters, four granddaughters and are active members of the First United Methodist Church.
