Virginia Jacobs Marcott, 89, of Bentonvill­e, passed away on Sunday. Services will be under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors in El Dorado.

James L. Wilson, 81, of Alvin, TX passed away, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Clear Lake Hospital in Webster, TX.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 , at the church. Burial will follow at Scotland Presbyteri­an Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Carolyn Hall passed away on Jan. 16, 2018 at the age of 76.

Funeral for Floyd Watley, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Farmervill­e with the Rev. Tommy L. Carr pastor/officiatin­g. Interment is pending at this time.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Farmervill­e. Services entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Farmervill­e, Louisiana.

Obituaries JOHN P. LUSK JR.

John Paul Lusk Jr., 64, of Cypress, Texas and Brazil, and formerly of El Dorado, died Feb. 10, 2018, near Nacogdoche­s, Texas, in a fatal car crash.

John was born in San Diego, California on Oct. 15, 1953, the son of John Paul

Lusk Sr. and Joan Furey Lusk. During his first years, the family lived in Conway, near Booneville and finally in El Dorado.

John lived in Decatur, Illinois in 1966-67 and while there, he was active in Toastmaste­rs and won several speech contests.

After moving back to El Dorado, he graduated from El Dorado High School in 1972. He was active in the EHS band, playing trombone under Bill Craig, along with the First United Methodist Church, Methodist Youth Fellowship, FUMC choir and bell choir.

After graduation, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy Prep School and after deciding not to attend the Academy, he then attended the University of Arknasas for three years.

A summer job with Ocean Drilling and Exploratio­n turned into a full-time job as a roughneck. During other summers, he worked for the El Dorado Water Company.

Continuing with Diamond Offshore Drilling, he completed 40 years of service. John worked in Singapore, Africa, Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea off Scotland and ended as a Brazil regional manager for the past four years.

He was preceded in death by mohter, Joan Furey Lusk.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Phillips Lusk of Cypress; Daughter, Cadi Lusk Lucus (Todd) of Kingsville, Texas; son, John Charles Lusk of Spring, Texas; five grandchild­ren, Finnegan, Ryder and Brodie Lucus, Mary Madelyn Lusk and John Charles Lusk II; father and stepmother, John Paul Lusk Sr. and Becki Lusk of El Dorado; sisters, Linda Lusk HeiRonimus (Dan) of Sikeston Missouri, Mici Lusk Ryberg (David) of Windsor, California; brother Philip Lusk of Elkhart, Texas; stepsister, Kimberly White Irizarry (Tim) of Little Rock; five nieces; two nephews; three great-nephews and three great-nieces.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, with the Rev. Keith Dodson officiatin­g.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Hill St., El Dorado, or the donor’s choice.

WAYDE DAVIS

Wayde Davis of El Dorado died February 10, 2018.

Wayde was born in the Three Creeks community to Thomas

P and Nellie Haire Davis.

H e served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943 - 1946 as a ship fitter plumber. After the service he became a carpenter. Wayde and his brother Travis operated Davis Bro. Constructi­on for many years. He was known for building beautiful cabinets. He dearly loved his family and loved the Lord. Two of his hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was a member of Ebernezer Baptist Church.

Wayde was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 56 years Beverly; brothers, Jesse Davis, Guy Webb

Dewey Davis; sisters, Bessie Wilson, Amy Dell Rainwater, Marie Pyle, Blanch Pyle, Tressia Pyle; grandson, Travis Wayde Calk.

Survivors are his son

Mike Davis (Pat) of El Dorado; daughters, Tanya Pittman (Billy) of El Dorado and Donna Calk (Travis) of Summerfiel­d, LA; seven grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be at Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado from 10:00am-11:00am on

Service will be 11:00am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels with Bro. Steve Pelz officiatin­g.
