Obituaries CAROLYN HALL
Carolyn Hall was good. She was kind and quirky and giving and genuinely good. And she was selfless. Her own needs were few, and others came first always and without question. She never judged. She merely loved and served and then loved some more.
Speaking of loves, Elvis, Elton, Neil Diamond, and Billy Joel were high on her list, as were Deepak Chopra, her morning cappuccino, the noble art of recycling, and all creatures great and small but especially cats. Her diet consisted mainly of candy, cookies, pie, and All Things Sugary, and she was never without her knitting needles and/or crochet hooks, crosswords, and Sudoku puzzles. But more than any of these (the only possible exceptions being Reese’s Cups and Werther’s hard candies), she loved her family and friends.
Dislikes included red meat, unkind people, racism, waste, yarn from different dye lots, and Saturday Night Live in recent years because the cast has gotten progressively meaner.
Carolyn passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Jan. 16, 2018, at the age of 76. Survivors include countless devoted friends, as well as her two daughters, Jennifer Summers and Michelle McCon, and her three grandchildren, Jordan, Lily, and Miles.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at one of her other loves: Scotland Presbyterian Church in Junction City, 2048 Wesson Road. Bro. Delmas Jones will officiate, and we invite you to bring your favorite cake, pie, cookies, candy – anything involving an abundance of sugar – and join us in fellowship after the service as we listen to Elvis, drink coffee, and indulge in sweets just as Carolyn would have loved.
Memorials may be made to Union County Animal Protection Society, 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, AR 71730 or to Scotland Presbyterian Church.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
