Funeral for Revia Carodine, 96, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 at the New Mt. Union Baptist Church in Junction City, Louisiana. Interment will follow at the Little Hope Cemetery in Spearsvill­e.

Mrs. Brown leaves to cherish her memory, children, Isiah Rogers, Jr., Alicia Rogers and Keon Hicks; grandchild­ren, Kadascia Dykes, Kelcey Dykes, Robert McDonald and Keonna McCory; one great grand daughter; siblings, Steve Johnson, Charlotte Johnson, Andre Johnson and Stephanie Watson and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Brown; parents, Charles Johnson and Mattie Watson; brothers, Larry Schultz, James Schultz and Terrance Schultz.

Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Polly was born on Jan. 1, 1923 and passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Owen Haley parents, William and Zena Varner; sister, Odellia Brown; brothers, Guy Varner and Buck Varner; and best friend, Lola Lowery.

She was a truly wonderful mother and Maw-Maw. She held many positions in Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Any time the Church was open she was there, helping with Bible School, socials, working hard in the kitchen on all occasions and teaching the Young People Sunday School Class. Eastern Star members will remember her for the many positions she held. Receiving the award for being a 50 year member was especially rewarding to her.

Polly, as she was called, will be remembered for her love of life and for her service to others. There is a long list of people she helped. There are many who will miss her soup and homemade rolls. She worked in administra­tion for Eudora Garment Factory and Superior Uniforms Company in administra­tion in Eudora for many years until her retirement.

During her retirement she joined the Eudora Garden Club. She worked especially hard to make her yard beautiful by the informatio­n she learned at the club meetings.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Costello and Charlotte Baine (James); son, Ronald W. Haley (Karen); grandchild­ren, Richard Costello (Carla), Kayla Hill (Kevin), Kelly Cook and Henry Frisby II (Terri), Rhonda Blackmon (Greg), Adam Haley, Angie Cox (Dan); 12-great grandchild­ren; 4-great-great grandchild­ren; 6-sisters, Martha Bradford (Johnny), Cherry Dawson (Elton), Daisy Ashcraft (Reek), Vickie Sullivan (Alvin), Glenda Sullivan (Frankie), and Estelle Turnage; sister-inlaw, Anna Varner. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 5P.M.-8P.M. at the Church.

MARY M. HAYNIE

Mary Marise Haynie, 86, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.

She was born May 6, 1931, to George Simon and Tennie Garrett Gorman, in Jersey. In 1993, she was the first retiree of El Dorado Paper Bag, where she worked as an inspector.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sons, Edward Lynn Haynie, William Charles Anderson; and one great grandson.

Survivors include her son Royce Dale Anderson; grandchild­ren, Michelle Entler, and Lyndsey Anderson; one great grandson; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Young’s Chapel with Edward Coon, III officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Life Touch Hospice and to Hudson Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
