Cal Ripken tourney to be held next month

A Cal Ripken baseball tournament will be held at the Union County Recreation Complex on Saturday, March 3.

The age groups will consist of 8U, 10U and 12U.

The entry fee is $225 with a three-game guarantee.

Pine Hills to host golf tourney next month

Pine Hills Country Club will host the Triple Threat Golf Tournament on March 10-11.

The format is six holes of scramble, six holes of best ball and six holes of alternate shot. The two-person tournament cost is $120 per team with a maximum of 60 teams.

Henderson State tops Ouachita Baptist 9-3

ARKADELPHI­A Henderson State collected 11 hits with Brandon Pollock going 4-for-4, as the Reddies beat Ouachita Baptist 9-3 in a non-conference game Tuesday at Rab Rodgers Field.

The Reddies (8-6) svored five runs in the seventh to break open a close game.

Jordan Harris was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Reddies.

Former Parkers Chapel standout Taylor Langston worked a scoreless seventh to end the game.
