JOHN ANDRIST

John Andrist, known to friends as “Chicken John”, passed away on March 2, 2018 at the age of 71 years. He was born Jan. 1, 1947 in Camden to Isaac and Mary Andrist.

After graduating from McNeil High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy-Navy Air. There he earned the rank of E-4. For his distinguished service he was awarded 4 bronze stars, a National Defense Service Medal with device and a Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon with a bronze star.

A native of Magnolia, he worked as a truck driver most of his life. When not driving he loved to go fishing, watching football, attending auctions, and reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Isaac, Jr. and Wayne Andrist.

Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Gale Greer, Rose Criss, Kathrine Pearl (David) Stratton, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and good friends.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church located at 3244 Lawson Road, Lawson. The service will be officiated by Bro. Ronnie Robins.
