Police continue probe into woman’s death
El Dorado police are still investigating the death of a woman who was found inside her residence last week.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. on April 6, officers responded to report of a shooting victim at 140 Pacific.
Upon arrival, they found 40-year-old Danielle Dumas Reynolds unresponsive on the floor inside a bedroom.
Dumas Reynolds was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said a relative was at the residence at the time.
Capt. Kevin Holt, public information officer for the El Dorado Police Department, confirmed that
Officers initially received call in reference to a gunshot victim.
Holt said the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock is still working to determine the cause and manner of death.
“They conducted the initial autopsy, and they told us it will be a while before they send us the preliminary report,” Holt said.
He said the crime lab is poring over evidence samples that were collected from the scene.
Holt said on April 6 that investigators were unable to establish if Dumas’ wounds were self-inflicted, noting that a complete autopsy by the state crime lab will make that determination.
He acknowledged there are several rumors circulating throughout the community concerning the case.
“We’re not confirming or denying anything. We are working this as we would any other type of investigation,” Holt said.
