Medical Center and Arkansas Heart Hospital announce strategic alliance
Medical Center of South Arkansas (MCSA) and Arkansas Heart Hospital (AHH) have announced a strategic alliance reflecting the two health care organizations’ commitment to heart health in southern Arkansas. Together, they will work to strengthen the recruitment of cardiologists, enhance the range of heart health educational opportunities and better meet the health needs of the communities they serve across the region.
“Heart disease is a serious health issue in south Arkansas,” said Scott Street, MCSA CEO. “This alliance is one of shared vision and commitment to providing quality care right here at home.”
Dr. Bruce Murphy, chief executive of Arkansas Heart Hospital says the shared vision between MCSA and AHH is of significant importance for his hometown.

In the alliance, both hospitals will remain as separate institutions.
MCSA, accredited by The Joint Commission, is a general acute-care hospital licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health. MCSA’s 166-bed facility’s inpatient services include obstetrics and newborn care, pediatric care, intensive care, otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and many other specialties.
Outpatient services include one-day surgery, speech therapy, physical and occupational therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound care, gastroenterology laboratory, interventional radiology, MRI, CT and digital mammography.
MCSA is a Level III Trauma Center, offers AR Saves Stroke Telemedicine and has an accredited Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Clinic. As an accredited Chest Pain Center, MCSA is able to provide excellence in emergency cardiac treatments.
