Vernon “Ray” Hughes, 77, of El Dorado, passed away, Monday, April 9, 2018, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born April 2, 1941, to Troy

He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, and was a fireman for the Old Union and

Lisbon Fire Department­s.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brother,

Robert Hughes, daughter, Paula Squyres; and granddaugh­ter, Brandi Embrey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Doris Hughes of El Dorado; two daughters, Eva Green of El Dorado, Nancy Benham (Chuck) of Jonesboro, AR; eleven grandchild­ren; and fifteen great grandchild­ren.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at Northwest Baptist Church with Bro Sye Duke and Rev. Bob Inmon officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnol­le Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730.

CYNTHIA A. MESHELL

Cynthia Ann Major Meshell, 69 of Pilot, TX formerly of Huttig, AR passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in Pilot, TX.

Mrs. Meshell was born January 1, 1949 in El Dorado, AR to the union of Garland Major, Sr. and Unie Jerry Major.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Meshell, son, Wade Meshell, one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include her two children, Shelley Nale and Greg Meshell, four sisters, Nancy Herring, Linda Cogburn, Jerri Agerton and Deborah Drennan, one brother, Garland Major, Jr., three grandchild­ren, Destiny Deville, Whitney Price and Dalton Nale, and three great grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the New London Baptist Church near Strong, AR.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the New London Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Emory officiatin­g. Interment will be in the Harper Springs Cemetery, Huttig, AR. under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
