Share CEO joins NHPCO Council
National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) announced Brian W. Jones, President and CEO of SHARE Foundation, has joined other noted Palliative Care Leaders, as a member of the Palliative Care Council.
The Palliative Care Council convenes under the leadership of the organization’s president and CEO Edo Banach, JD and oversight of Council activities will be facilitated by the Vice President of Palliative and Advanced Care Lori Bishop, MHA, BSN, RN, CHPN.
“The Palliative Care Council will provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to our organization and members related to the provision of community-based palliative care,” said Banach. “Our entire community will benefit from the expertise and insight from these distinguished professionals who have joined our Palliative Care Council.”
The Council will be integral to setting the direction of NHPCO’s strategy to support provider members as they expand or continue their efforts in the provision of pain-management care by assisting with the development of resources and tools related to various models of pain-management care delivery, offering recommendations regarding presenters and content of palliative care education, and advising NHPCO regarding care membership and related member offerings.
“One of the things I’m particularly excited about will be working with the Council to identify exemplary programs that will serve as practice examples that will inform the creation of new Palliative Care Tool kits,” said Bishop.
NHPCO will be developing practical tools to help providers implement and sustain community-based palliative care programs.
The Council will also explore ways the organization can support data collection so their palliative programs can demonstrate value to various stakeholders, including consumers, health systems, health plans boards of directors, legislators and others.
