ProMed to open new base in East Camden

ProMed Ambulance is expanding its southern region with plans announced to open an ambulance operations based in East Camden.

The service will initially station and maintain an advanced life support (ALS) paramedic unit at the new Ouachita County location.

The ambulance base will help ProMed better serve its Dallas, Calhoun and Union County service areas as well as continuing to assist Ouachita County Medical Center, the area’s primary service provider.

“As our footprints in south Arkansas has grown, we have looked for ways to better serve those who rely on us for high-quality ambulance transporta­tion and emergency medical services,” said ProMed CEO Ken Kelley. “Our goal is to provide timely response across the region.”

ProMed Ambulance helps bring advanced life support and critical care services to rural communitie­s through innovation and a commitment to maintain its existing relationsh­ip with Ouachita County Medical Center Emergency Medical Services and Ouachita County 911 by serving as a alternativ­e, mutual aid provider at the request of these agencies.

For ProMed’s primary services areas, the new base will improve response times and increase access to advanced life support care, especially in the Locust Bayou area.

ProMed Ambulance has served Union County for twenty-five years and is recognized as a leading provider of quality, profession­al ambulance services in Arkansas.

The company also serves Calhoun, Dallas and Randolph Counties.

The Company is taking delivery of a new ambulance unit and critical care equipment in the next few weeks.

The expansion will provide employment opportunit­y for a minimum of six full time profession­als and a compliment of part time staff.
