Wil­liam A. Gandy, 85, of Smack­over, passed away, Sun­day, April 15, 2018, at Court­yard Health and

Gandy in Smack­over, AR.

He was a self-em­ployed oil­field con­trac­tor and a mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of Smack­over. He en­joyed fish­ing, duck hunt­ing and camp­ing and had a love for grilling and spend­ing time with his grand­chil­dren.

Wil­liam is pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; four sis­ters, Blon­nie, Ruth, Oneta, Billie Jean; three brothers, James, Clyde Lee, New­ton; and wife of 50 years, Doris Jean Burns Gandy.

Sur­vivors in­clude his two daugh­ters, Vicki deYam­pert (Gary) of Smack­over, Cathy Du­rain of Haughton, LA; three grand­chil­dren, Eric deYam­pert (Casey) of El Do­rado, AR, Tif­fany Dortch (Michael) of Haughton, LA, Allison Du­rain (fi­ancée Joe Pawlus) of Lit­tle Rock; four great grand­chil­dren, El­lye and Beck­ett deYam­pert, Chris­tian and Rea­gan Dortch; sis­ter, Martha “Mott” Sell­ers (Char­lie) of El Do­rado AR; and spe­cial niece, Glenda Rabun of El Do­rado.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be 5:007:00 pm. Wed­nes­day, April 18, 2018 at Young’s.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be 10:00 a.m. Thurs­day, April 19, 2018, at the First Bap­tist Church in Smack­over with Rev. Carly Davis of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low at Smack­over Ceme­tery under the di­rec­tion of Young’s Fu­neral Di­rec­tors.

The fam­ily would like to thank Dr. Richard Davis and the staff of Court­yard Health and Re­hab for the lov­ing care given to Mr. Gandy.
