Doris Turner, 46, of Texarkana, formerly of Magnolia, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home.

Obituaries AUGUST J. BOSE

August Joseph Bose (A.J.) passed away April 13, 2018 at 83 years of age. A.J. was a native and long time resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and lived his last years with his daughter and family in

El Dorado, Arkansas. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. William

Joseph (Lucille Acosta) Bose on June 17, 1934.

He was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by three siblings, Warren Bose, Margaret

Bose Dawson (Bob), Bessie

Bose Cerise (Vic). He has one surviving sibling, William Bose (Marge) of Jefferson City, Missouri.

A.J. graduated from Redemptori­st High School in New Orleans and joined the Air Force to served his country. He was an Airborne Radio Operator during the Korean War, where he was stationed at Châteaurou­x-Déols Air Base in France. After his service, he returned home to New Orleans to work at Exxon Mobil Refinery in Chalmette, Louisiana as a Terminal Manager. While working and having a family, he continued his education at Loyola University earning his Business Degree. He worked at Exxon Mobil for 32 years until retirement and continued part-time employment with Freeman at the New Orleans Convention Center.

A.J. was formerly married to Mary Alice Ribaul Bose of Gretna and they have four children. Survived by all of his children, Dr. William Bose (Dr. Shelia Palmer) of Mobile, Alabama; Robert Bose of Covington, Louisiana; Bernard Bose of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Mary Bose Anreder (Dr. Michael Anreder) of El Dorado. He has eight grandchild­ren, Mercedes Bose Klebba (Danny), Jake Bose, Jane Bose, Alex Schexnaydr­e, Bobby Bose, Sophia Anreder, Juliet Anreder and Max Anreder, two great grandchild­ren, Dylan Bose & Lydia Klebba, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be said in his honor on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church.

Following the funeral Mass Military Honors will be presented by the Honor Guard of Little Rock Air Force Base in the parish hall.

WILLIAM GANDY

William A. Gandy, 85, of Smackover, passed away, Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Courtyard Health and Rehab. He was born May 2, 1932, to Clyde and Johnnie Irene Martin Gandy in Smackover.

He was a self-employed oilfield contractor and a member of First Baptist Church of Smackover. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and camping and had a love for grilling and spending time with his grandchild­ren.

William is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Blonnie, Ruth, Oneta, Billie Jean; three brothers, James, Clyde Lee, Newton; and wife of 50 years, Doris Jean Burns Gandy.

Survivors include his two daughters, Vicki deYampert (Gary) of Smackover, Cathy Durain of Haughton, Louisiana; three grandchild­ren, Eric deYampert (Casey) of El Dorado, Tiffany Dortch (Michael) of Haughton, Louisiana, Allison Durain (fiancée Joe Pawlus) of Little Rock; four great grandchild­ren, Ellye and Beckett deYampert, Christian and Reagan Dortch; sister, Martha “Mott” Sellers (Charlie) of El Dorado; and special niece, Glenda Rabun of El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Young’s.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Smackover with the Rev. Carly Davis officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Davis and the staff of Courtyard Health and Rehab for the loving care given to Mr. Gandy.

BOBBY E. PHILLIPS

Bobby E. Phillips, 80, of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Hudson Nursing Home. He was born July 10, 1937, to O.C. and Nellie M. Forsythe Phillips in

North Little Rock, who preceded him in death.

He was a retired butcher and was a member of the First

Baptist Church. Bobby never met a stranger. He had a servant’s heart and was a craftsman. Bobby loved antiques, and he loved the Lord and his church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Phillips; two daughters, Jan Collins (Thomas), Shelly Owens (Keith); son, Chris Phillips (Karla) all of El Dorado; three grandsons, Ryan T. Collins (Sarah) of Alexandria, Virginia, Blaine Phillips; granddaugh­ter, Paige Owens (Shane); four great grandchild­ren, Beckett Collins, Trenton, Hunter, and Emma Grace Owens; special cousin, Jim Forsythe (Kathy) of Bearden; and numerous other cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Young’s.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Kelley officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
