Obituaries JAMES R. BRYANT

James Roy Bryant, known by many as “Bodie”, passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Monica, California on March 26, 2018 at the age of 51.

He is the son of James and the late Ruthie (Rogers) Bryant. He grew up in Junction City, where he was known as a star athlete. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Junction City. He served time in the United States Army. He loved working as an instrument fitter and being a Target warehouse swat specialist before moving to California. He loved spending his time drawing and at the beaches of Santa Monica.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruthie (Rogers) Bryant; his grandparen­ts Frank and Flora Rogers; Roy and Marie Bryant.

He leaves behind his father and stepmother, James and Sandy Bryant of Junction City; his son, James Cory Bryant, Lynsey; grand baby Bryant of The Woodlands, Texas; his daughter, Lauren (Bryant) Sues; granddaugh­ter, Daelyn Sues of The Woodlands, Texas; his sisters, Diane (Bryant) Grafton; Steve of Junction City; Marie (Bryant) Keene; Gary of Hot Springs; his brothers, Tommy Bryant; Dawn of Junction City; Reid Bryant of Little Rock.

A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on April 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Junction City, with the Celebratio­n of his life beginning at 2 p.m. with Bro. Jim Bynum presiding. A graveside service will be held immediatel­y after at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

ETTA YARBROUGH

Etta Yarbrough, 86, of El Dorado, passed away, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

She was born Sept. 30, 1931, to Carl and Willie Mae Bearden Stancil in Farmervill­e, Louisiana. She worked as a self-employed beautician and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Nathan Bert “N.B.” Yarbrough; daughter, Jacki Ann Yarbrough; and three sisters, Mary Davis, Sally Benton, and Carline Rowell.

Survivors include her two sons, Danny Yarbrough (Cathy), David Yarbrough both of El Dorado; two grandchild­ren, Lindsey Yarbrough, of El Dorado, Danielle Purvis (George) of Eureka Springs; and two great grandchild­ren, Carter Brooks and Miles Purvis.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at Young’s Chapel with Bro. Billy Smith officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
