RSVP Dance featuring L&N Express to be held Friday
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is holding at RSVP Dance for ages 55 and older from 7 until 10 p.m. Friday at Champagnolle Landing Senior Center, 910 E. 4th St., El Dorado.
L&N Express (Lewis & Nutter) will perform. Admission is $6 per person. Smoking and alcohol is prohibited.
Union County Genealogical Society to meet Sunday
The Union County Genealogical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Barton Library.
Lacey Ferrell, with the Barton Library, will give instructions on how to use the new microfilm reader to further genealogical research. Carolyn Smith will also share how subscribing to Newspapers. com and genealogybank.com have benefited her research. Visitors are invited to attend.
Ribbon cuttings to be held throughout May
The El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce will host two area ribbon cuttings in the next couple of weeks.
A ribbon cutting for South Arkansas Health Institute (SOAR CAN School), 518 W. Faulkner, will be at 2 p.m. Friday.
A ribbon cutting for Palmer’s Place at the El Dorado Golf and Country Club, 101 Shady Side St., El Dorado, will be held at noon May 11.
Southern Koast set to perform at Club 10 on Friday
Southern Koast will be playing from 8 p.m. until midnight Friday at Club 10 at the American Legion.
Admission is $8 for anyone ages 21 and over.
Registration now open for Waiting to Excel — Summer Camp
Registration for the 11th annual Waiting to Excel – Summer Camp, a day camp for kindergarten to sixth-graders is now open.
The camp will run from June 4 to July 26, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 1016 Wilson Street. Aftercare services will be provided from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
Literacy, math and social skills again will be the focus of the camp. Breakfast and lunch will be provided as well as a snack for those in aftercare.
