Reminder of Services LESTER R. GRIFFIN

Funeral for Lester Ray Griffin, 27, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Ruston. Interment will follow at the Woods Chapel Church Cemetery. Service entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, Farmervill­e/ Arcadia.

CHESTER D. PHILLIPS

A memorial service for Chester Donald Phillips, 84, of Little Rock will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Danny Schieffler and the Rev. Michael McCain officiatin­g. Interment will follow in the columbariu­m garden. A reception will be held in the parish hall.

CHARLES W. TARDY

Graveside services for Charles William Tardy officiated by Bro J.D. Weido will be held at 11:00 AM on today at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on O’Rear Road. A private family viewing will be at Perry’s Funeral Chapels one hour before the service and the family will proceed to the cemetery for the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnol­le Road, El Dorado, Arkansas.

EVERETT A. THOMPSON

Services for Everett A. Thompson, 92, of El Dorado, will be 11:00 a.m. today in Young’s Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Meeks officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 Southwest Ave., El Dorado, AR 71730.

Obituaries JERRY E. COPLIN

Jerry Elwood Coplin, age 85, on May 12th, 2018. He died peacefully after living with Alzheimers for a number of years at Crossett Heath and Rehab. He was born on January 1, 1933 in Broken Bow, OK to the union of Harold and Lucille Harrison Coplin.

He lived in El Dorado, AR over 30 years and worked as a welder in constructi­on. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a Mason and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Jean Parker, Patsy Barker, and Mary Sue Mackey and one brother: Harold Coplin.

Survivors include his wife of 65 and a half years, Dorothy Carter Coplin ("Boots"), son Jerry Michael Coplin of Anacoco, LA. Two daughters, Catherine Purifoy and husband Jesse of Kingwood, TX Lori Walley and husband Stephen of Crossett, AR. Two grandsons, Erik Coplin of Bell, LA, and Cody Walley of Crossett, AR. Four granddaugh­ters, Kaitlyn Walley of Memphis, TN, Destiny Wallace and husband Blake of Crossett, AR, Jennifer Chase of Kingswood, TX, and Jessica Owens and husband Darrell of Kingwood, TX, and a brother, David Paul Coplin of Royse City, TX. eight great-granchildr­en and a host of nieces and nephews.

Before his illness set in he loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid bass fisherman and taught all of his children and grandchild­ren to fish and they carry on the love of fishing to this day. He and Dorothy loved to spend the summer at their camp in Felsenthal, AR and would spend the majority of the day on the water on his boat till he caught the biggest fish he could. When the fish weren't biting you could find him in his recliner watching the fishing or hunting channel or westerns with his dog Boo-boo in his lap.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near El Dorado, AR. Under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Crossett Rehabilita­tion and Health Center for thei excellent care of him for many years, the staff of Hospice Home Care of Monticello, AR and especially Chaplain Andy Connard.
