Obituaries RICHARD H. STUART

Richard Henry Stuart, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 22, 2018, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Rachel Stuart-Haas, of Shreveport, Louisiana; and

Sarah Storm, of

Fonthill, Ontario; son-in-laws,

David Haas and Matt Storm, and grandchildren, Liam and Ivy Haas, and Noah, Allie and Nate Storm. He is also survived by his sister Janey Pillsbury and her husband Rick, of El Dorado, and their children Kimberly, Richard and Megan, along with many great nieces and nephews and scores of beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Janet Stuart of El Dorado.

Richard was born on Feb. 22, 1951, in El Dorado. He went to El Dorado High School where he achieved the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout and discovered a love for tennis. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana with a Master’s in Business Administration on a tennis scholarship. In 1975 he moved to Shreveport, Louisiana to open Stuart’s Incorporated.

Anyone who knew Richard for more than 30 minutes knew that he possessed three things: a deep and steadfast love of his family, a rapier sharp and wicked sense of humor, and a love of tennis and golf. In fact, one of his greatest achievements in life was his famed and oft-bragged about double eagle shot at East Ridge golf course, on Nov. 3rd 1994 on hole #7.

Richard lived as his golfed, swinging wide and fearlessly with his love of travel, good stories, friends to laugh with, and the family he loved to circle around.

Per Richard’s request, he will be cremated without a funeral. However, there will be a memorial service within the next few months. The family is deeply grateful for the doctors and nurses at Christus Schumpert Highland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Richard’s name to B’nai Zion Temple in Shreveport at (http:// www.bnaizioncongregation.org/), 245 Southfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71105.
