SHARE Foundation president elected to state Public Health Association committee
Dr. Brian Jones, president/CEO of the SHARE Foundation, was recently elected to a one-year term of the Executive Committee of the Arkansas Public Health Association (APHA).
The APHA is committed to protecting the health of Arkansas and is an affiliate of both the American Public Health Association, Inc., and the Southern Health Association. The membership of the APHA is made up of individuals from public health disciplines, as well as those interested in the advancement of public health.

Smackover Street Committee Meeting to be held today
The city of Smackover is having a Street Committee Meeting at 4 p.m. today at the Smackover Municipal Building Council Room, 807 Broadway, Smackover.
Second public hearing slated for complex grant
The El Dorado-Union County Recreation Complex Board of Directors is inviting residents who live inside El Dorado city limits and in Union County and all other interested parties to a public meeting that will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chamber of City Hall. The meeting will be held prior to the El Dorado City Council regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be to identify potential outdoor park and recreation needs and priorities for the complex. Following the identification process, city and county officials will select those priorities to be submitted to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism for a matching grant application. This is the second of three public meetings that will be held for the grant application. The third will be held at 5 p.m. June 21. Ethnic minorities, those with special needs, elderly people over 55 and special interest groups are encouraged to attend and participate.
