50th Anniversary Announcement
PAYNE 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Howard and Beverly McCann Payne of El Dorado celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 15. Howard and Beverly took their vows and were united in holy matrimony at Morning Star Assembly of God Church in El Dorado by Bro. Woodrow Benton on June 15, 1968. The Paynes are members of Parkview Baptist Church.
Howard, who was a member of the EHS class of 1965, served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He was stationed in the Republic of Korea in 1967.
Beverly is also from El Dorado, and attended EHS. She graduated from International Correspondence School.
The first year of their marriage, the Paynes lived in Colorado Springs while Howard served his final year at Ft. Carson. The couple returned to El Dorado before moving to Cleveland, Mississippi, where they lived for seven years. Then, they moved, and lived in Crossett for three years before returning to El Dorado in 1983. Howard worked in retail for over 25 years, and earned his real estate license in 1988, and became a registered appraiser in 2000. During this time, he was manager of Mellor Park Mall, then, property manager at Immanuel Baptist Church. In 2015, Howard retired from BancorpSouth after over 12 years as property manager. He is currently active in real estate and in real estate appraisals.
Beverly also worked in retail, and while she was at Barbara’s Hallmark Shop, she was designer and imprinter of cards and gifts. Beverly also spent several years in After School program at Northwest School. Beverly is the love of Howard’s life, and is Howard’s biggest cheerleader and helpmate.
There will be a 50th Wedding Anniversary Reception on June 23 for Howard and Beverly at the home of Bro. Benjy and Alma Joy McCann, 483 Mount Union, El Dorado. A come and go reception will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join them for this joyful celebration. They request no gifts.
