Steven Francis Mattern, 65, of El Dorado passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 at Young’s with Rev. Larry Hudson officiatin­g and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 prior to the memorial service.

A private burial with military honors will be held June 26, 2018 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Young’s.

MATTIE L. GOODWIN-RAMEY

Mattie “Sister” Lee Goodwin, 69, of Smackover passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at MCSA. She was born on April 17, 1949 in Smackover to Alvie and Mattie Lee Goodwin.

She was a member of the last graduating class of Smackover Training School the class of 1967. She was a retired employee of Hillsboro

Nursing Care Center. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist

Church in Lisbon, where she served as pianist for over 50 years, as a deaconess, member of the Women’s Missionary

Society and Youth Director.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alvie Lavelle Goodwin. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 49 years Bill Ramey of Smackover; one son, Gregory (Laticia) Ramey of Smackover; one daughter, NaTasha Ramey of Smackover; two brothers, Willie James (Jo Nell) Goodwin of Smackover and Lee (Deborah) Allen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and five grandchild­ren. She is also survived by two adopted sons, Winfred (Evonne) McCraw of Waco, Texas and E-4 Specialist Steven Goodwin, Jr. of New York and a special daughter, Lois Minor of Camden.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lisbon. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing at the funeral home. Mrs. Ramey will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday for viewing until service time.
