RITA BRITT

Rita Britt, 63, of El Dorado passed away on June 21, 2018 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Rita was born on February 10, 1955 in Mount Holly to Willie and Edna Perry. She worked as a Nurse starting out at Warner Brown and then the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calion. Her favorite past time was Bream Fishing with her husband and she was known to out fish him when it came to Bream.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind her husband of thirty years, James Britt; son, Chris Davis; brother, Billy Perry (Anita); and sister, Barbara Wilson.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family request that Memorial Donations be made in Rita’s name to the National Kidney Foundation at 1818 North Taylor Street, Suite 186, Little Rock, AR 72207 and the Arkansas Heart Foundation at 10802 Executive Center Drive, Suite 110, Little Rock, AR 72211.

STEVEN F. MATTERN

Steven Francis Mattern, 65, of El Dorado passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

He was born

August 7, 1952 in New Orleans,

LA to Clair Seguin Mattern. Steve was the owner of Mel’s Seafood Restaurant. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and a yearly hunting trip to Illinois, spending time with his grandchild­ren, old western movies and watching the New Orleans Saints. He loved El Dorado, the community and the relationsh­ips with his customers at Mel’s.

Preceding him in death is his grandmothe­r, Edna Seguin.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Mattern of El Dorado; two daughters, Lori Newton, (Josh) of El Dorado & Elizabeth Mattern of El Dorado; his mother Clair Seguin Mattern; grandchild­ren, Kade Newton, Jillian Newton, Layla Maza & Caila Fairris; brothers, Donnie Mattern (Dena), Tommy Mattern (Whing), Johnny Mattern (Vickie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 at Young’s with Rev. Larry Hudson officiatin­g and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 prior to the memorial service.

A private burial with military honors will be held June 26, 2018 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Young’s.
