Muleriders to host baseball showcase

MAGNOLIA - The Southern Arkansas Mulerider Baseball program has announced that its 2018 Premier Prospect Camp will be held Tuesday, August 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field.

The showcase is for high school players who will graduate from 2019-2021 and will provide the opportunit­y for those wanting to play at the collegiate level to display their skills.

Cost for the showcase is $150 per player and includes a SAU baseball shirt.

Each of the participan­ts is responsibl­e for bringing their own workout clothes and equipment. A one-hour lunch break will be from Noon-1 p.m. and campers will be responsibl­e for their own lunch.

Instructio­n and evaluation will be provided by the SAU baseball staff and players. A facilities tour, campus tour, and NCAA eligibilit­y discussion will be available for campers. The deadline to enroll for the showcase is August 5 with a cutoff of 60 campers.

The Mulerider baseball team recently won their fifth Great American Conference Tournament Championsh­ip since 2012, and advanced to their 10th NCAA Regional Tournament in the last 11 years. The Muleriders have also extended their streak of winning 30 or more games in a season to 18-straight.
