Gifted and Talented

Junction City offers gifted and talented instructio­n for both elementary and high school. Enrichment opportunit­ies are provided for elementary students.

AP and Concurrent Credit Opportunit­ies

The district offers Advanced Placement Courses in all core areas: AP English Language and Compositio­n, AP Literature, AP Biology, AP History, AP American Government, AP World History, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science as well as any number of AP opportunit­ies through digital learning. The district offers concurrent credit in College Algebra and Compositio­n I and II. Also, the district provides transporta­tion to South Arkansas Community College where students can participat­e in a variety of programs.

Extra and Co-Curricular

Junction City High School competes in football, cheerleadi­ng, golf, cross country, basketball, baseball, softball and track. Junction City owns more than forty state athletic championsh­ips. The district also has award winning FBLA and FCCLA organizati­ons as well as marching and concert band. Students can also chose to be a part of National Honor Society, Beta Club, FFA, Spanish Club, Science Club and Student Council. The Dragons are also very competitiv­e in Quiz Bowl.

Mission, Vision, and Goals of JCSD

The Junction City School District’s goal is to provide every student with a complete education — academical­ly, emotionall­y, and socially — in a safe, caring environmen­t. JCSD is committed to serving the needs of all children where upon graduation students will be prepared to pursue a career or a post-secondary education. JCSD vows to employ competent, caring staff and provide clean, safe facilities equipped with relevant, modern technology.
