Mr. Jose Antonio Covas-Castanera, Jr., age 77, of Hope, Arkansas passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home in Hope. Mr. Covas was born on May 13, 1941 in Guayama, Puerto Rico to Jose and Margarita Castanera Covas. He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran and a Linguist for the U. S. Embassy in Italy. He loved to hunt, fish and was a very deeply devoted family man. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jorge Covas.

Survivors include; wife Eve Covas M. D. three sons, Jose Covas III, wife Schelley of Norphlet, Arkansas, Joaquin Covas of Waco, Texas, Jaime Covas fiancé Kristi of Viola, Arkansas, brother, Luis Covas also of Viola, Arkansas, six grandchild­ren, Caylie Lambert husband Nick of Norphlet, Arkansas, Javier Covas of Waco, Texas, Evan Covas of Norphlet, Arkansas, Josh Covas of Austin, Texas, Gavin Covas of Magnolia, Arkansas, Jacqueline Covas of Austin, Texas and one great granddaugh­ter AveryKate Lambert.

A private family memorial service will be held by the family.
