Trojans, Bulldogs fall in area football action

PARKERS CHAPEL - Heading into their non-conference clash with Parkers Chapel, Mayflower had scored 112 points in their wins over Central Arkansas Christian and Marshall.

On Friday night, the Eagles significan­tly added to that total, as Mayflower knocked off Parkers Chapel 52-8 Friday night at Victor Nipper Stadium.

Dating back to the start of last year, the Eagles have now scored 50 or more points in 12 of their last 15 games, including all three of their games in 2018.

The Trojans’ lone touchdown in the contest came on a 20-yard strike from Caleb Jacobs to Amari Bell.

The touchdown catch was Bell’s fifth in three games.

Parkers Chapel (1-2) opens play in the 8-2A with the first of a twogame road swing at Hampton.

The Eagles (3-0) host Danville next week. Rison 53, Strong 0

STRONG - In their first two games of the 2018 season, Rison was dominant in dispatchin­g Fordyce and Brinkley.

On Friday night, the Wildcats’ dominance of their opponents continued, as Rison topped Strong 53-0 at Jerry Burson Field. X-Zavier McHenry had 33 yards on nine carries for the Bulldogs.

LeAndrew Greer, who had 85 yards last week against Lake Village, was held to three yards on nine carries.

Defensivel­y, Derrion Davis had nine tackles, while Troy Rowland made six stops for Strong.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Bulldogs (0-3), who host Junction City in the finale of a three-game homestand in their 8-2A opener next week.

Rison (3-0) will host Drew Central next week.
