Obituaries GARRETT DARDEN

Garrett Darden, 17, of Strong, passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 following a one vehicle accident. He was born June 7, 2001 in Monroe, Louisiana to Kevin Darden and Deborah Robinson, both of Strong.

Garrett was a blessing and inspiratio­n to all who knew him. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing or riding 4-wheelers with his friends. He looked forward every year for opening day of duck season. If he wasn’t hunting you could find a fishing rod in his hand. He was an honor student at Parkers Chapel High School and was also attending South Ark Community College to obtain his welding certificat­ion.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandfathe­r, Frank Robinson; and paternal great grandmothe­r, Marlette Darden.

Survivors include his mother, Deborah Robinson; father, Kevin Darden; two brothers, Lane Darden, Wyatt Darden all of Strong; step-sister, Taylor Rogers of Memphis, Tennessee; maternal grandmothe­r, Dena Robinson; paternal grandparen­ts, Clyde and Gail Darden; uncle, Eric Robinson; aunt, Brenda Sawyer (Mark) all of Strong; and numerous extended relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at New London Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at New London Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Smith and the Rev. Donald Ray Smith officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Old Lapile Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
